Level 2B Neurorehabilitation

This specialist, multidisciplinary service supports adults with complex neurological conditions who require structured, goal-focused rehabilitation following completion of acute medical and surgical treatment.

The service strengthens the rehabilitation pathway across South-East London by providing coordinated step-down support that enables safer and more sustainable transitions into the community.

What is Level 2B Neurorehabilitation?

Level 2B neurorehabilitation provides coordinated rehabilitation for individuals who:

• Have complex neurological conditions such as acquired brain injury, stroke or progressive neurological disease
• Have completed their acute hospital treatment
• Require structured, multidisciplinary rehabilitation
• Do not require intensive Level 1 or 2A inpatient service
• Are progressing towards discharge into the communit

The focus is on measurable, goal-directed rehabilitation delivered within a supportive specialist environment.

Recovery from neurological injury or illness does not end at hospital discharge.

Our Multidisciplinary Approach

Level 2B rehabilitation at British Home is delivered by a specialist multidisciplinary team, including:

• Physiotherapy
• Occupational therapy
• Speech and language therapy
• Rehabilitation assistants
• Specialist nursing
• Medical oversight

Each individual receives a personalised rehabilitation plan with clearly defined goals, regular review and coordinated discharge planning.

Referral Information

Referrals to the Level 2B Neurorehabilitation service are accepted from:

• Acute hospital discharge teams
• NHS commissioners
• Case managers
• Community rehabilitation services

This service is currently being delivered as a pilot programme with four beds. Evaluation and outcomes will inform future service development.
